2018-2019 will be the last time you will see these pupils at Tyndale Primary School. We are going to improve and develop new skills so we can conquer any challenges that we may face in the future!

This week we have been writing our quest stories. Take a look at a few of them below. We have also been playing tag rugby and looking at SAQ activities in our other PE lesson.
We have been super busy this week with all the learning we have been doing. Here are some things we want to share...
Term 3 PE DAYS!!!
PE will be on a MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
Throughout Term 3, we will be reading 'Wolf Brother' by Michelle Paver to inspire our writing and enquiry. The book follows a boy on an adventure during the time of hunters and gatherers. We will be writing about aspects of the book and exploring them further with the end goal of writing our own quest story to share with the Year 3's.
During Term 2, we will be using the inspiring text ‘Wonder’ by R. J. Palacio as a stimulus for our writing. This is a story about a young boy, August, who has Treacher Collins Syndrome. The plot takes us through his very first days at school and we learn how he is treated by others just because of the way he looks. We will go on a journey with August and discover the emotional roller-coaster that he takes as he steps into school life.
In addition to this, throughout the term as well as using the text, we will be learning some more incredible science based on evolution and inheritance where we will learn all about how genetics are inherited through living things.
This week we have finished off our fifth target - cohesion across paragraphs. We have written a prove it based on the 3 little pigs and the Big Bad Wolf but our writing has a twist.
Over the course of this week, we have started to plan the Christmas Service.
Yet again, another person from our class are leaving!! We wish them all the best as they venture to Malta!! We hope to see you soon!
Sadly in year 6 we have seen one of our class members move on to another school. She will be greatly missed.
However, in Maths we have been working hard on dividing and multiplying problems.

In English this week we have been looking at conveying character through dialogue. We have been retelling fairy tales to develop character. We have found this challenging have a look at two of our prove it pieces of work.
In term one, our enquiry question is…
How were the people of Britain affected by WW1?
This was our final week!! Can you believe we have completed a whole term already! WOW it flew by.
In English, we found out that our beloved Charlie has died! He was shot by his own firing force! We have made an incredible display of our work from Term 1.
We have been multiplying 2 digit by four digit numbers and multiplying decimals numbers as well as learning how to use long division to divide four digit numbers by two digit numbers
This week in Mathematics we have been learning about factors, multiples and multiplication. Using the compact method we have been successful in solving Th H T O's x by T O's questions.
On Friday we created Clay Poppies for the remembrance service being held at St Mary’s Church. We will then paint them ready to be collected soon.
In maths we have been learning about the order of operations through BODMAS. We seem to have mastered this learning in year 6.
In our English lessons, we have been writing letters in first person back home to Mother, Molly and Big Joe based on our class text, Private Peaceful. We have found out in our story that Tommo and Charlie have been sent to France to fight in WW1.
Life skills at The Create Centre-
WOW- that was pretty immense! Today we learned all about how to keep safe when helping others in dangerous situations. We were set tasks in different scenarios where we had to call the Emergency Services. We learned about how to stay safe near the rail line and that it can take a 125-train 2km or 1.25 miles or 20 football pitches to stop!
There was a scenario where there was a house fire. We had to call the fire brigade to support us.
It was AMAZING!!!

This week in Buzzard we have been working hard on our learning…
English- We have been continuing our learning on "The Day The Crayons Quit." Especially working hard on complex sentences and using commas to demarcate clauses.
Maths- We have been working on digit values, rounding numbers as well as ordering and comparing numbers. Friday we had a times tables quiz- Can you beat Batman?
This week we have been focusing on our Key Stage book “The Day the Crayons Quit.”
We have been working together to create a piece of artwork as a class. We have also been debating as to whether Duncan has been mistreating the crayons.
