SEMH Resource Base Announcement

Tyndale Primary SEMH Resource Base Announcement
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am pleased to share some exciting news about the future development of our school. South Gloucestershire Council has today announced that Tyndale Primary School has been selected as one of three schools in the local area to open a new specialist resource base.
This new provision will offer places for children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). It will be an important addition to our school community and will further strengthen our commitment to inclusive, high-quality education for all children. The resource base will form part of a new extension to our Key Stage 2 building, placing it right at the centre of our school. This is a deliberate and exciting step that aligns fully with our vision “to provide all children with an exceptional education in a warm, welcoming environment that inspires them to lead change and enables them to become curious lifelong learners.”
I want to reassure you that this development will not take anything away from the exceptional education and care that children at Tyndale already receive. The resource base will be an additional provision that enhances our school, increases specialist expertise and strengthens support for all pupils. Although the base will be run by Tyndale and will be very much part of our school community, admissions to the resource base are managed separately through the Local Authority. This means that children currently attending Tyndale with SEMH needs will not automatically join the base but would be prioritised if parents/carers want to change placement from Tyndale Primary School to Tyndale Resource Base; places are allocated through a separate application and consultation process led by South Gloucestershire Council.
At this stage, early planning and design work is beginning, and the opening of the base will take place in the future once the extension is complete. As plans progress, we will keep parents, carers and the wider community fully updated. We are delighted that Tyndale has been chosen for this opportunity and look forward to the positive impact it will bring for our children, families and staff. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind regards,

Mr L Crouch
