Tyndale Primary School

Year 5 Teacher Update

Monday 26th February 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following the letter I sent you on 9th February 2024, I am writing with an update about how the handover to the new class teacher will work.

Ms Lett’s last day in Year 5 is this Thursday (29th February 2024).

We are pleased to announce that Ms Morgan-Cooper is going to be the Year 5 class teacher for the next two months, prior to Ms Stewart returning from maternity leave on 1st May 2024. Ms Stewart will be at school for a ‘keeping in touch’ day on 22nd March 2024. On this day, she will spend some time with the class and familiarising herself with their current attainment and progress.

Ms Morgan-Cooper is a supply teacher and is not directly employed by Tyndale Primary School but will follow all policies and procedures in place at Tyndale during her time with us.

We have set up a ‘Getting to Know You’ day for the Year 5 children on Friday to ensure that they have the time and flexibility to come away from the daily timetable slightly to engage in activities that will help build a relationship with their new teacher.

Ms Lett and Ms Morgan-Cooper will be meeting in the coming week to discuss your child in detail; their academic attainment and progress, pastoral support, behaviour and SEND needs.

Ms Morgan-Cooper is very excited to be the new Year 5 teacher and is looking forward to meeting you all.

Kind regards

Ms K Parkhouse

(Headteacher)
