Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Tyndale Primary School
I am fiercely proud to welcome you to Tyndale Primary School. We are more than just a school; we are the Tyndale Family—a community united by a clear and unapologetic mission: to give every child the very best chance of success. We know that each child only gets one opportunity at education, and we are determined to make it count.
At Tyndale, we operate a distinctive Warm/Strict culture. We are deeply caring, relational and child-centred, while holding exceptionally high expectations. We believe children thrive in environments that are predictable, safe and ambitious. Through clear routines and the explicit teaching of our values—being Ready, Respectful, Safe, Ambitious, Resilient, Collaborative and Independent—we make it easy to behave and hard not to. You will see this in action through our calm corridors, “Fantastic Walking”, and consistent whole-school routines that ensure classrooms are purposeful, focused and disruption-free.
Learning at Tyndale is never left to chance. We use Explicit Instruction to ensure all children master the curriculum, regardless of starting point. Our classrooms are intentionally minimalistic to reduce cognitive load, enabling pupils to focus fully on the powerful knowledge being taught. Reading is the heartbeat of our curriculum. Through our Tyndale Reading Spine, daily reading lessons, dedicated “Love of Reading” sessions and reading across the curriculum, children are exposed to approximately 1.8 million words each year—building vocabulary, background knowledge and cultural capital that open doors for life.
We are a genuinely inclusive school, with underserved children at the centre of everything we do. We move beyond traditional support models through the use of Inclusion Partners, SEND Partners and Academic Partners, alongside specialist therapeutic spaces such as The Hive, The Nurture Nest and The Den. Our staff are trauma-informed and use the Zones of Regulation and PACE approach universally to support emotional regulation and readiness to learn. We view behaviour as communication and combine restorative practice with clear boundaries and sanctions to teach children right from wrong and help them flourish.
Your child’s safety is our absolute baseline. We work under the mantra “It could happen here”, maintaining high vigilance around safeguarding and attendance. Attendance is tracked rigorously because we know that being in school, every day, is the single most important driver of academic success.
We are a high-performing team that thinks differently to ensure no ceiling is ever placed on what your child can achieve. Through academic rigour, Class Family Time and an extensive enrichment programme, we are committed to helping every child discover their strengths, passions and potential.
Tyndale Primary School is proud to be part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust—a family of like-minded schools that collaborate closely, share best practice and support one another, while retaining and developing their own distinctive character.
Our doors are always open. I warmly invite you to visit us and see The Tyndale Way in action.
