For both of the Autumn terms our topic is all about dinosaurs. In Term 1 as historians we learn about a very special lady called Mary Anning who was a pioneering palaeontologist and fossil collector. She lived over 200 years ago and over the course of her life she made many incredible discoveries in her home town of Lyme Regis and became famous throughout the scientific world. Today, Mary is remembered as one of the greatest fossil hunters to have ever lived. We will also be reading and discussing many fiction and non-fiction texts about dinosaurs and continuing to learn to write simple sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. In Term 2 we investigate a special discovery found in the school grounds! We take very good care of it until it is time for it to go! Using our chromebooks we also learn how to use a paint computer programme and draw our own dinosaurs. Lots of fun is had by all with a number of very creative activities all linked to our dinosaur planet topic.
Term 3 - To be announced soon.
